The Catalan National Day, known as “La Diada” is one of the main festivities for the Catalan people. In Melbourne we celebrated La Diada through a beautiful event that included music, videos and yummy tastings of Catalan traditional food.
The event was as well an unique opportunity to spread our history and to increase awareness about the latest events that took place in Catalonia, such as the Catalan Way: an enormous human chain held on 11th September across more than 400 km. Our guests enjoyed the video recorded in Melbourne of our Catalan Way on Sunday 1 September 2013 at the Princes Bridge in St Kilda Road.
The event was supported by Victorian Multicultural Comission.
