The group “Mainada del Casal” meets once a month and tries to keep Catalan language among the little ones. We have some volunteers committed to this group who prepare songs, games and other educational activities. The children are from 2 years to 7 years old. The Centre has as well a collection of Catalan books for children available for the members.
Therefore, Casal Catala de Victòria works to preserve our traditions and Catalan language among families with a Catalan background who are currently living in Australia. The strength (and worldwide use) of English and Spanish makes difficult the generational transmission of the language, a problem that the Mainada group wants to solve.
