On Sunday 14 September near 100 people met in Melbourne to celebrate with Casal and its members our Catalan National Day, “La Diada”. A festivity that this year had its focus on the commemoration of three hundred years of the historical events in 1714 and the massive demonstration in Barcelona.
A little exhibition about our language and Barcelona’s siege was held with supportive films and books. A video showing the V in Barcelona which gathered a million people and another featuring our replica here in Melbourne were screened. Finally, the attendees enjoyed a musical performance and the little ones had their space and made some crafts in our group Mainada.
“Coques de recapte”, “pa de pessic”(catalan cake), spanish omelette and the best wine and cava (sparkling) were served.
Thanks everyone to make it possible.
