be prepared to do for love. In a beautiful exercise of narrative honesty supported by a risk-taking script, the film glows with a stunning performance by actress Marian Álvarez. This first work by Catalan director Roser Aguilar demonstrates her use of minimalism as a guiding principle.

Un bonic exercici d’honestitat narrativa que es recolza en un guió arriscat, creixent-se a mida que avança sobre el treball superlatiu de l’actriu principal. Una òpera prima de la directora catalana Roser Aguilar, qui crea del minimalisme la seva virtud principal.

Cataluña - Espanya is a documentary about the challenging and unresolved relationship between Catalonia and Spain, in several dimensions: economic, philosophic and historic, without being overtly political. The film interviews well-known thinkers who have reflected on the issues and developed insights from a more detached perspective.
The film aims to provide an element of reflection on the territorial tensions that currently exist in Spain, to broaden the often polarised debate to one benefiting from freedom of expression.

* The title of the film cleverly justaposes the Spanish word Cataluña for Catalonia (Catalunya in Catalan) with the Catalan word Espanya­ for Spain (España in Spanish), to emphasize the different prisms through which each ‘nation’ views the other.

Xtremes is a film based on real-life events. It uses the techniques of fiction to tell the true stories of lives that have been shattered and broken because of drugs. The testimony of the real-life protagonists becomes the basis for
a series of interwoven stories. The actors, the characters they play, and the real people these characters are based on, describe 'extreme' experiences, revealing what it means to hit rock bottom and survive.
The border between reality and fiction is blurred, and the two worlds interact, feeding off one another to recreate the excesses of individuals leading double lives under the guise of normality. Xtrems és una pel·lícula basada en fets reals, en què la ficció es posa al servei de la realitat per mostrar-nos l’infern d’unes vides que han quedat estroncades per la droga. A partir de les declaracions reals de testimonis, un seguit d’històries evolucionen de forma entrellaçada. Actors, personatges i protagonistes expliquen, en format work in progress, un seguit d’experiències extremes, que ensenyen als espectadors que significa caure i sobreviure. Els límits entre realitat i ficció desapareixen i s’autoalimenten per mostrar-nos els excessos d’unes dobles vides, normals aparentment. Històries plenes d’humanitat, d’errors, de conflictes i de confessions que obliguen a reflexionar. Un pas més i ... Qui arriba als Xtrems s’arrisca a descobrir els límits.
